Dear clients, colleagues and friends:

As is widely known, the World Health Organization (WHO) recently declared coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak as a pandemic, situation whereby both, the Federal Judiciary and the Mexico City Judiciary, as well as the Federal Court of Administrative Justice and the Mexico City Court of Administrative Justice, among other jurisdictions, have declared the suspension of activities from March 18 to April 19, 2020.

The foregoing includes the suspension of both jurisdictional activities and procedural terms, which implies that, during the period aforementioned, it will not be possible to continue with the processing of current lawsuits and/or ongoing procedures, in addition to which, except in certain cases, it will not be possible to file initial lawsuits.

It should be noted that, the measures taken by the courts are necessary to safeguard the health and physical integrity of defendants, public officials and their families. In this regard, if it proves indispensable, the suspension of activities may be increased if the competent authorities consider it necessary in order to deal with the disease in question.

Please find the respective communications attached herein.
